PER-211 Medical Management of CBRNE Events (2 days)

This course provides a strong emphasis in developing a multi-discipline, whole-community team approach to planning, preparing, responding, managing and recovering from an event involving CBRNE agents, a coordinated complex terrorist attack (CCTA), an active shooter or other violent event. To reinforce this multi-discipline team approach, participants should optimally be from fire services, law enforcement, Emergency Medical Services (EMS)/hospital, public health, public works, and emergency management organizations.

• Identifying threats and hazards in a
hazardous/active threat environment.
• Using the RAPID-Care algorithm when
responding to a hazardous/active threat
environment.
• Personal protective equipment (PPE) and
protective measures for the
hazardous/active threat environment.
• Recognizing casualties exposed to a CBRNE
agent.
• Decontamination considerations and
treatment for casualties exposed to a CBRNE
agent.
• Triage and medical management of
casualties during a CBRNE, CCTA or violent
event.

There are no prerequisites for this course.
